A Woman’s Perspective

Dr. Jean Buhac established a dermatology practice in Saratoga Springs, NY, about 20 years ago to provide residents from Schenectady, Albany, and throughout the Capital District with access to world-class medical and cosmetic dermatology services. Saratoga Dermatology continues to serve patients seeking comprehensive skincare treatments using state-of-the-art technology and techniques.

Dr. Buhac and Dr. Smith, who joined Saratoga Dermatology in 2012, are joined by a helpful, friendly staff. Patients feel at home when they visit our practice. Our priority is to treat patients with respect and to provide the best possible results for both medical and cosmetic dermatology patients. Our patients also appreciate seeing dermatologists who understand skincare from a woman’s unique perspective.

Dr. Buhac and Dr. Smith are accomplished physicians with multidisciplinary backgrounds steeped in research. The medical and cosmetic treatments we provide—whether time-tested or cutting-edge—are supported by clinical research that supports their effectiveness. Among our core beliefs is emphasizing daily skin care coupled with regular exams to maintain a healthy, glowing complexion.

Jennifer Novakovic, PA

Jennifer graduated summa cum laude from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Technology. She then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Albany Medical College.

Jennifer joined Saratoga Dermatology in 2014 and lives in Saratoga with her husband and three sons.

Jaid Baytos, RPAC

Since joining Saratoga Dermatology in 2022, Jaid has been dedicated to providing comprehensive dermatologic care with a patient-centered approach. As a Physician Assistant, she specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancers, with a particular focus on preventative care and patient education.

Jaid earned both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Clarkson University. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Alexandra Lyle, FNP

Allie has been a part of the Saratoga Dermatology team since 2021. She began her healthcare career in 2019 after she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2019. She went on to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2024.

At Saratoga Dermatology, Allie specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including acne, psoriasis, skin cancers, and cosmetic treatments. As a member of the Society of Dermatology for Nurse Practitioners, Allie is dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in dermatology to provide the highest standard of care.

Bruce Rischert, RPAC

Bruce Rischert is a Board Certified Physician Assistant licensed in New York who joined Saratoga Dermatology in October 2005. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University while employed as a NYC police officer. He went on to attend Touro College, where he graduated cum laude and received his physician assistant degree.

Over his career in Dermatology, Bruce has become skilled at diagnosing and treating a myriad of dermatological conditions, performing skin cancer screenings, excisions, and biopsies. Bruce enjoys his interactions with his patients and making sure they are comfortable and understand their medical diagnosis and treatment.

Growing up in Queens, NY, he appreciates the beauty that Upstate has to offer. He enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and exploring the outdoors.

A Team Approach

The complementary talents of our dermatologists and estheticians distinguish Saratoga Dermatology from many other practices. Dr. Buhac’s expertise in cosmetic dermatology led her to establish the area’s first med spa, which provides services such as laser skin rejuvenation, injectable treatments, and acne treatments.

Dr. Smith specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, an advanced technique for removing skin cancer lesions while preserving as much healthy skin as possible. Both Dr. Buhac and Dr. Smith diagnose and treat skin conditions such as rashes, rosacea, cysts, and a range of other concerns. We take a collaborative approach, ensuring the women and men who choose Saratoga Dermatology have their needs met, either by one of our experienced dermatologists or one of our highly trained estheticians.
